OVERVIEW:
"Partnerships in Assessment: Succeeding Together” is the theme of the 8th Annual Texas A&M University Assessment Conference. The conference program will highlight partnership opportunities and technological advances that will help to improve assessment practices.
The 2008 conference will be held February 17-19 at the Hilton Conference Center of College Station, Texas. Over 425 participants are expected to attend the 8th Annual Texas A&M University Assessment Conference based on last year’s conference attendance.
The program will be organized around the following tracks:
- Assessing Academic Programs and Projects
- Assessing Student Learning at the Course Level (including technology and distance education)
- Assessing Student Affairs and Student Development
- Strategic Planning and Assessment in Accreditation: Planning and Using Resources (including ABET, regional accrediting agencies like SACS, QEP, etc.)
- Assessing the Core Curriculum and General Education
The Hilton Conference Center is located less than five miles from Easterwood Airport, less than three miles from the George Bush Presidential Library, and is central to other area attractions unique to the Brazos Valley such as the Messina Hof Winery and the Benjamin Knox Gallery - College Station Depot. Audience Demographics:
Over 425 individuals, representing 97 institutions from 27 U.S. States and several international destinations including Brazil, Guam, and Puerto Rico, attended the 7th Annual Texas A&M University Assessment Conference in February 2007. This audience was comprised of a diverse group of people, including college presidents, provosts, vice-presidents, and deans; fiscal, academic, and student affairs personnel; information technology managers; accreditation teams; and faculty members.

Exhibitor Agreement
Fax a copy of your signed exhibitor agreement (see page 6 of Sponsorship Package) ) to Karen Farnsworth at (979) 862-2919 by December 10, 2007. All signed agreements must be accompanied by short blurb describing your company’s goods and services and a JPEG of your company logo; send the blurb and logo to Ms. Karen Farnsworth at k-farnsworth@tamu.edu by January 15, 2008
Exhibit Space
Exhibit space will be pre-assigned and identified with a placard. Each space includes one white, tablecloth-covered 6’ table and two chairs. Electric outlets will also be available. Exhibitors agree not to post anything to doors. When posting to walls, exhibitors agree to use packing tape or some other adhesive that will not leave a residue. Exhibitors agree not to post using nails. Also, exhibitors agree not to post, nail, tape or otherwise attach items to floors or other parts of the building or furniture. Exhibitors are responsible for damages to the hotel if they do not comply with these requests. See a map of the hotel below.
Exhibit Security
Exhibit security is the sole responsibility of the exhibitor. The Texas A&M University Office of Institutional Assessment will not assume responsibility for property loss, damage or personal injury, or other claims related to exhibitor space. Additionally, exhibitors are advised to carry insurance to cover their property against damage and loss and public liability insurance for claims of injury to the person and property of others.

Additional materials such as overhead projectors, easels, markers, etc. may be rented through Hilton Convention Services. Please contact Ms. Gayla Brown at gayla@hiltoncs.com or (979) 694-4909 if you should have a need for any additional materials.

College Station Hilton Map

Exhibit Hall: Ballroom 1 will serve as the showroom for all sponsors. Each sponsor will be assigned an exhibit table with tablecloth and electricity. The pre-conference reception will be held in this room, and breakfast and breaks will be nearby. The other rooms (2-7 and A-D) will be available for individual demonstrations on Monday evening after 5:30 p.m., if desired. The conference will provide the room, and any other costs (such as extra AV or catering) will be covered by the sponsor. These rooms must be reserved by December 10th 2007, and are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Reservations can be made through our office: (979) 862-2919.
